Herwig Maurer (a.k.a. Agent H) was born and raised in Salzburg, Austria, the stomping grounds of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and is an alumni of Berklee College of Music where he majored in sound production & engineering. Industry circles have long heralded Herwig as a pioneering modern-day renaissance man. Co-founder of the critically acclaimed band, Mankind Liberation Front, his IMDB profile reveals his impressive technical and creative prowess ranging from composer, performer and sound designer to recording, programming, mixing, production and more.

Somehow he also managed to find time to get his photography featured in Rolling Stone Magazine as well as in exhibitions next to works by Picasso and Basquiat, score movies, produce/mix/remix other music artists, become a playable character in the PlayStation game Rocketbirds (which his band New World Revolution also provided tracks and original score for), as well as write and create music ranging from rock n’ roll to ambient soundscapes to underground techno club hits and collaborate in the Academy Award-nominated audio design of the film Apocalypto.

Maurer’s work is influenced by over three decades immersed in a wide range of spiritual modalities. These include Western Mystery Schools, Earth-based indigenous religions, Systemic Constellation Work, NLP, and various other delicacies from the spiritual salad bar that Southern California embodies. Adopted by Lakota Native Americans, the term “shaman” could be used to describe him, though he rejects how the word is used in today’s Western world.

Herwig lives with his 8 year-old son as well as several foxes, horses and rattlesnakes in a trailer and tipi in the hills of Malibu, CA. Besides his various music projects Herwig is currently continuing sound design on Amazon’s flagship series Reacher, and developing 7 Directions Radio, a label of ceremonial music and media, both geared to benefit indigenous elders and causes, as well as to reprogram the global consciousness with positive healing content.
